Hello Fred! Thanks for taking the time to speak with me. How are you doing? What are you up to these days? Please introduce yourself to our readers!
Hi! Thank you for interviewing me I greatly appreciate it! I’m doing good! These days I mostly work, study, and workout, I am a wide receiver for the Carleton Ravens, I am from Laval, Quebec and I am studying to major in History.
What got you into football? & Why do you enjoy playing football?
I got into football at the age of 7 and what mostly made me want to play was the movie with Adam Sandler “The Longest Yard” I thought football looked fun! What I enjoy most is having a great group of guys that become like family and over the years, I have made so many great memories with these guys. I love the competition involved too!
What are your goals as a football player and as an overall person?
My main goal is to go pro like every player at this level, I want to be remembered as one of the greats at Carleton and I want to be known as a hard worker and have discipline. I always try to translate what I learn in football into my everyday life.
How do you feel going into your 2nd year at Carleton?
I am extremely excited for the season to start! I had a great first year and I feel that my second will be even better. Knowing my team and the playbook will help me focus on progressing as a player. I am excited to play with this team, we have a great group of guys and our team chemistry is the best I’ve seen!
What was your best game last season? How did you feel after the game?
I had a few good games but my best was probably versus York. I had my first touchdown of the year and I made some good plays on special teams. As much as I did have a good game, I felt like I needed to fix some mistakes that I made during the game and I wasn’t satisfied with everything so I was ready to go watch film and correct my mistakes
What’s your typical fitness routine?
This year our fitness routine is great! We have 4 lifts during the week and also 3 conditioning days along with cooldowns and stretches.
What is your favorite offensive scheme and why?
I love watching the Kansas City Chiefs’ offensive schemes. I love seeing offenses where every player can get the ball and where plays are put in the best position to make a play.
What would you tell a team during a draft interview?
They will get a consistent guy that loves to learn, That I might not be the flashiest of players but I’m always there to make a play! A player that just loves the game!
What would you tell aspiring football athletes?
That school is the top priority. You can be the next great player, but nobody will get to see you if you’re not eligible.
Do you have any highlights you want to show?
Of course! I have a quick highlight on my Instagram (instagram.com/fred_hachey) and I have a link to my Cegep highlight in my bio.
What’s your Twitter/Instagram? So, any potential fans/scouts can check you out!
